Research Methods for Political Science

This course helps students understand how to study and research political topics in a clear and organized way. It introduces basic ideas and methods used in Political Science, showing how to ask good questions, gather useful information, and make sense of it. Students will learn about two main types of research: qualitative (focused on ideas and experiences) and quantitative (based on numbers and statistics). The course also explains how to collect data, analyze results, and follow ethical rules in research. Most importantly, it shows how political research connects to real-life issues and helps improve public decision-making and governance.

IT Networking Fundamentals

The course introduces technology and allied processes which students may apply to the problems they encounter. This course will focus on the forefront of the today’s technological tools. Throughout the course, emphasis will be put on learning the IT networking fundamentals with its practical relevance in daily life. The course not only introduces the technology but also covers aspects related to identification of tools and processes for understanding the importance of IT networking in day to day life.

Political Ideas and Ideologies
Post Graduate

The course will be offered to second semester MA students as a compulsory core course.  This course will equip students to critically interrogate and engage with the social and political structures-an essential part of a university dedicated to teaching and research in Social Sciences and humanities. It will enable students to look beyond their individual locations and acquire an understanding of the contested ways in which the core political ideas and ideologies have been understood across time and space. The course will provide a clear grasp of the key concepts to enable students to engage with the current political and social discourse, which is very important for students who wish to be engaged citizens in a democracy, thus fulfilling one of the essential goals of AUD-making active and enlightened citizens.
